Growing Joyful Givers “God gives the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 In 1 Chronicles 21, King David prepares to offer God a sacrifice of repentance. The man from whom David must purchase supplies is so eager to help that he offers everything for free. David replies, “No. I’m buying it from you, and at the full market price. I’m not going to offer GOD sacrifices that are no sacrifice” (v. 24, The Message).

How often we do that ourselves: forgo a latte to put a few dollars into the collection plate … read Scripture for only five minutes a day … say we’re too busy for a service project, then spend hours watching TV …. The list goes on. It’s not that we should “give ’til it hurts”; it’s about giving ’til it feels good!

God doesn’t need our sacrifices; we do. Our faith grows when we challenge ourselves to give up something less valuable to embrace the richness of God. When we give more than we’re comfortable giving, our need for control is replaced by confidence that God holds us.

Each year the members our Church join in a Stewardship Campaign where we are all invited and encouraged to make a pledge of financial support. Through this campaign, we remind ourselves that God has given us many resources to use for good. We know that our time, energy, money and prayers are all important—and God is able to do wonderful work through us and through our gifts. Generosity is a hallmark of the Christian faith. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and a way in which we honor and grow closer to God. The church depends upon our generous gifts for financial support, as well as our dedicated time and energy. To learn more about how you can support us through your financial gifts, check out the Giving page. ou can offer your gifts by cash or checks during our Sunday worship services. God is doing great things here and we hope you will be a part of our moving forward in faith. Thank you for your generous financial support. At Your Church, we believe that we are called to be in ministry, everyday, in everyday ways. That's why we encourage and offer opportunities for our community to get involved. Being involved in and for church efforts is a part of our church culture, a theology of being mindful of the impact and responsibility we have on and towards our local and global community as Christians.

Through involvement this congregation is an outward-focused reflection of God's love to all.
